The snow in the winter sports regions may reach 2 m and more. The clearing of the streets is organized, the availability of access roads to individual houses but is not guaranteed immediately. Therefore, to take snow chains is strongly recommended. In very severe snow conditions, it can happen in a particular case that the vehicles for a few days a few hundred meters from the cottages must be parked away because the parking spaces near the houses are unreachable. The larger ski resorts usually have modern lift facilities and modern technology for the care and maintenance of slopes and trails. Away from the centers, there are usually simple baby lifts or plate lifts older model years. Located southeast of the Giant Mountains, 130 km east of Prague and 50 km east of Hradec Kralove (Hradec Kralove). About Dresden 250 km, about Nuremberg 350 km away.
