The six arms of the Morava running through town gave Litovel both a special character and thenickname "Venice of Haná.Litovel, with a population slightly over 10 000, is a sub-region for a large area and tourism centre with stylish restaurants a network of stores. A bottomland forest is preserved in the town´s surroudings, CHKO Litovelské Pomoraví, which is a popular goal of walks past the romantic houses in the vicinity of Nové Zámky. Dripstone caves at Mladec and Javorícko, as well as the castles at Úsov, Bouzov.
