The cottages are at YACHT HAVEN OOSTMAHORN former external dike, right - the name says - the marina Oostmahorn.

Lauwersmeer

The Lauwersmeer (up to 8 km and 6 km wide) is located on the North Sea, between Groningen (east 40 km) and Leeuwarden (35 miles west). Only 30 years ago was deep into the land extending into the Gulf Lauwerszee separated by a broad embankment of the North Sea and it was the shallow freshwater lake Lauwersmeer. Large parts of the lake are inaccessible nature protection zone. Some holiday settlements on the shores accessible.
